Title: Notes from the Mend: Finding Harmony After a Unexpected Setback
Category: News & Personal Updates / Behind the Scenes
Hello everyone!
If things have been a bit quiet around here lately, I wanted to drop in, clear the air, and share an update on what’s been happening behind the scenes.
It’s been quite a intense season. I recently went through a major health hurdle involving a secondary lung collapse, which landed me in the hospital for a stretch. Needless to say, taking a full breath—let alone sitting down at the piano or scoring desk—was a real battle for a while.
The good news? I’m back home, recovering, and feeling that familiar spark of inspiration returning day by day.
While hospital stays are never on anyone's wishlist, being away from the daily routine gives you a unique perspective.Music has always been my primary way of processing life, and even from a hospital bed, my mind couldn't help but turn hospital sounds into musical ideas (more on that hilarious story in my next post!).
Now that I’m back at my desk, my top priority is getting cjwmusichub.com thriving again with regular content, score updates, sheet music releases, and composition breakdowns. Thank you all for your patience, support, and kind words while I was recovering.
There are lots of exciting projects currently on the engraving stand—including new concert band pieces and orchestral suites. Stay tuned, because the music is flowing faster than ever!
